Tidman's Natural Rock Sea Salt
This sublimely white sea salt, named for the “tide men” who made their living from the shore, has strangely variegated crystal blocks with a distinct sweetness and a jaunty crunch.
Tidman’s has the large crystal structure and low cost that make it an ideal multi-purpose salt, yet it is elegant enough to stand on its own as a finishing salt. Comparison to another good rock salt such as Australian Lake (which also has its uses) underscores the initial impression Tidman’s gives of succulence. Buttery with an unusually sweet note, it is suited to generous application on meats, fish, breads, stews, pie crusts—anywhere that mild yet full finishing salt or recipe salt is desired.
